Memoir Writing One-Day Workshop

Wrestling your personal story into a coherent, riveting narrative is no mean feat. Deciding what not to write about is often just as important as what to highlight and expand. This one day workshop will help you see your story as a narrative arc, to build the foundation of a memoir that does what life often avoids: a beginning, a middle, and an end, with a theme.

Date: Saturday, October 27, 2012
Time: 7 — 8:30 p.m.
Fee: $40
Instructor: Susan Gregory Thomas

Susan Gregory Thomas is the author of In Spite of Everything: A Memoir (Random House, 2011); Buy, Buy Baby: How Consumer Culture Manipulates Parents and Harms Young Minds (Houghton Mifflin, 2007) and the blog Ask a Broke-Ass Grouch (brokeassgrouch.wordpress.com). Also a seasoned journalist, Susan writes for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post and other publications.
